A SALIENT FEATURE OF THE DIGITAL DIAL.
     
   

The construction of the DIGITAL DIAL is very small. It has a pleasant front view.

It is a Retrofit. One can just replace an analog, dial without making any major change on to the machine.
The Rockwell and Rockwell superficial scales can be read directly from the dial by finger touch operation.

It is equipped with RS 232C interface. 

The data can be transferred on to the computer disc. The dial has programming, such that we can generate a quality control report. We can take a print of the data sheet. We can generate a graph from the data captured on to the computer disc.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF DIGITAL DIAL.

 
       
   
  1. Set the top cover on to the hardness testing machine.
  2. Set the probe on the machine.
  3. Plug in the data cable with the computer
  4. Plug in the two pin into 240 volt ac supply
  5. Insert cd in cd drive.
  6. Run set up (While installations select only “ignore” or “no to all” which ever the case may be.)
  7. Select DHT-DRO on the desktop or from the programme list.
  8. Run DHT- DRO programme.
  9. On the dial d0000 will be displayed.

    It is necessary to enter the technical data like  
       
   
  • Scale
  • Weight
  • Indentor
  • Date (which is default character.)
 
       
  2. Connect  
       
    Click  
       
    If the digits on the dial are displayed on the computer screen, then it is ok.  
       
   
  • If “Device not connected…” massage is displayed, and then connect the digital dial with the computer. Click connect to get connected with the computer.
  • On to the computer screen pl. enter necessary technical data required for record purpose- like scale, indentor, weight etc.
  •  Take the readings- you can take “N” numbers of the readings for the same specimen and the average value will be worked out automatically.

How to enter the hardness reading as a data

 
       
   

Take the hardness measurement and see that the correct final reading is displayed on the screen, then

 
       
    Click  
       
   

The reading will be seen in Reading table

If you take more then one measurement then average of all the measurements for one specimen will be worked out.

New project:

 
       
    Click or select “New project” from utility on menu bar.  
       
    This facility is to open a new project in which we can keep a record of hardness measurement.

Open project

 
       
    Click or select “open project” from utility on menu bar.  
       
   

This facility is to open a project which is listed in as new project in which we can keep a record of hardness measurement in particular project. The name of the project opened will be displayed on the top of screen.

Add to project

 
       
   

This facility is used to add the data-hardness measurement reading for a particular job or specimen.

 
       
    Select  
       
  7.

Close project:

 
       
    Click or select “close project” from utility on menu bar.  
       
   

This facility is to close a project which was opened earlier.

q.c.report

 
       
   

This facility is to generate the q.c report for a particular data, stored in particular project.
The measurement of hardness for a batch quantity can be evaluated if we specify the range lower limit and upper limit, then the total reading for a particular scale shall be short listed  as below limit-within limit and above limit.

 
       
  9. To see this report pl. follow the instructions  
       
    Click or select Q.C. report from utility on menu bar.  
       
   
  • Select a project name
  • Enter the range
  • Select indentor
  • Select weight
  • Select scale
  • Click evaluates- on selection of this button –print button will be highlighted.
  • Select print
  • The quality control report will be displayed.
 
       
   
  1. Now we can take a print of it
  2. We can see complete report for a particular project for all the measurement               
  3. We can see complete report for a particular project for a particular date.
  4. We can save the data to any place over and above this programme and send it to a mail         recipient.
  5. We can see the analysis as graphical presentation.

It is a graphical representation of the SAMPLE v/s HARDNESS value. It shows a common chart for specimen and hardness value. It will not show for a particular date.
